Protect the patient. Protect their data.

In healthcare, a breach isn’t just a fine — it’s eroded trust and disrupted care. We keep protected health information safe, get you HIPAA‑ready, and defend against the ransomware that puts patients at risk — without slowing down the people delivering care.

The threat landscape

Why healthcare is in the crosshairs

Healthcare sits at the intersection of high‑value data and life‑or‑death urgency — a combination attackers exploit relentlessly.

Ransomware that halts care

When systems lock up, surgeries are delayed and ambulances diverted. Attackers know lives are on the line — and bet you’ll pay fast.

High-value patient records

A medical record sells for far more than a credit card — it can’t be cancelled and holds everything needed for fraud and identity theft.

Vulnerable medical devices

Infusion pumps, imaging systems, and monitors often run old software that can’t be patched — each one a possible way in.

Phishing & credential theft

Busy clinical staff are prime phishing targets. One stolen login can open the door to an entire electronic health record system.

Third-party & vendor risk

Billing services, labs, and cloud vendors all touch PHI. A breach at any business associate can quickly become your breach.

HIPAA penalties & exposure

A breach can mean regulatory fines, mandatory public notification, and lasting damage to patient trust — well beyond the incident itself.

A medical record is worth far more than a credit card

Stolen payment cards get cancelled in hours. A medical record can’t — it holds a patient’s history, identifiers, and insurance details, making it a durable, high‑value target that commands a serious premium on criminal markets. That’s why healthcare data is hunted so aggressively.

The core challenge

Compliance and security aren’t the same thing

HIPAA sets the rules for protecting patient data, but a binder full of policies doesn’t stop a breach. Plenty of organizations are “compliant” on paper and still wide open in practice.

Real protection means the safeguards HIPAA describes actually work — access is controlled and logged, data is encrypted, threats are monitored, and the gaps are closed. We do both halves: get you HIPAA‑ready and genuinely harder to breach, so the compliance reflects reality.

Compliance — the paperwork

Risk analyses, policies, training records, and the documentation the HIPAA Security Rule requires you to maintain.

Necessary · but not sufficient on its own
Security — the protection

Access controls, encryption, monitoring, and tested defenses that actually keep PHI safe when someone comes knocking.

How we help

Security that respects patient care

We bring our full practice to your organization — tuned for a clinical environment, where protecting data can never come at the cost of treating patients.

HIPAA readiness & compliance

We assess your safeguards against the HIPAA Security Rule, close the gaps, and build the policies and evidence to demonstrate compliance.

Why StrikeProof

We protect data without getting in the way

Security that slows down care doesn’t get used — the sticky note with the password appears, the shared login spreads. We build protection that works with clinical workflow, not against it.

  • Care‑first. Controls that protect PHI without adding friction at the bedside.
  • Device‑aware. Can’t patch that infusion pump? We isolate and monitor it instead.
  • Compliance that’s real. HIPAA‑ready and genuinely harder to breach — not just paperwork.
  • One team, end to end. Testing, monitoring, response, and compliance — without juggling vendors.

Healthcare FAQ

Common questions

Does StrikeProof make us HIPAA compliant?
We get you HIPAA‑ready and keep you there. HIPAA has no official government certification, so no firm can hand you a certificate that makes you compliant. What we do is assess your safeguards against the HIPAA Security Rule, close the gaps, build the required policies and documentation, and put controls in place that genuinely protect patient data — so you can demonstrate compliance if you’re ever audited or investigated.
Why is healthcare such a big target for ransomware?
Because patient care can’t stop. When systems go down, care is delayed, ambulances get diverted, and lives are genuinely at risk — so attackers bet that hospitals and practices will pay quickly. On top of that, medical records are worth far more than credit card numbers on the black market, because they can’t be cancelled and contain everything needed for identity theft and fraud.
We use older medical devices that can’t be updated. Can you help?
Yes. Connected medical devices — from infusion pumps to imaging systems — often run old software that can’t be patched without vendor involvement or recertification. When a device can’t be updated, we protect it another way, using network segmentation, monitoring, and access controls to isolate it so a compromise elsewhere can’t reach it, and so it can’t be used as a foothold.
Will security controls slow down our clinicians?
We design around care. Security that gets in the way of treating patients doesn’t get used, so we favor controls that protect data without adding friction at the bedside — single sign‑on, well‑tuned access rules, and monitoring that works in the background. The goal is to protect PHI without slowing down the people delivering care.
Do our vendors and business associates need to be secure too?
Yes. Under HIPAA, business associates who handle protected health information on your behalf are also responsible for protecting it — and a breach at a vendor can become your breach. We help you assess vendor risk, put the right agreements and controls in place, and reduce the exposure that comes from everyone you share patient data with.
